We Care for Your Little Ones Just as You Do

Circumcision by Plastibell Procedure (Ring Method)

Circumcision by Plastibell: After applying a numbing (local anaesthetic) cream to the base of the penis, your baby will be given a local anaesthetic injection through the numb skin so that there is no pain on the foreskin. A parent can be with your baby and soothe him. He will be awake and can have a feed immediately after the procedure.

What to Expect after the procedure
The foreskin is tied over a plastic ring. There are no stitches. The tip of the foreskin will turn white or black and will fall off with the plastic ring on its own in 8 to 12 days.

Benefits of using this method over the Cutting method of Circumcision
Walk in Walk out. No blood tests, admission or general anaesthesia required
Less pain during healing. No stitch marks

Downside of this method
There is some swelling on the shaft of the penis that will go away only after the ring falls off.
